A crime story…

Shared Items From Around The Web – December 14, 2008

UpdateAbout ten days ago, I wrote about an auction of a dozen or so neckerchiefs with the description in the blog post above.

Two OA neckerchiefs, the best is a 311 N1 which is typically a $200+ item, the other neckerchief is from Wilgus Lodge #361 and off the neckerchief goes for $25 or so.  Hard to tell if this is an A1 or A2.

There are several camp neckerchiefs and an old 1960 Jambo neckerchief and a Region 11 Neckerchief.

The most intriguing items to me are two 1965 era Philmont Staff neckerchiefs.  While I don’t know a lot about them, given that they are 40+ years old I suspect we will see some spirited bidding on this lot.

The auction closed for $ 373.99

Amazon Prime

amazonI do tout Amazon a lot, but find them extremely convenient.  They have virtually everything, not just books and DVD’s.

A couple of years ago I joined Amazon Prime, you pay an Annual Fee, but get free two-day shipping on all items, upgrades to one day shipping for just $3.99 and no  minimum order size.  Typically the fee is $79.00, but you can get a free 30 day trial and than its only $59.00 for the first year.

Seems like a lot, but when you add in the cost of gas to the mall, and normally paying for shipping for orders under $25.  I more than cover the cost each year.  Worth the free trial from Amazon if you still have things to order for the Holidays.
