Shinnecock Lodge #360 Pwamas Chapter eX1971

A number of issues surfaced at the Shu Shu Gah TOR last weekend, this one is a previously unlisted event patch from Pwamas Chapter for the 4th Annual Icicle. Pwamas Chapter is part of Shinnecock Lodge #360.

One interesting thing from this patch, is the event was not held on Long Island, but at GNYC’s Sanita Hills Scout Camp.

13th Annual Shu Shu Gah Lodge Trade-O-Ree Report

Last Saturday, November 22, 2008 the 13th Annual Shu Shu Gah Lodge #24 Trade-O-Ree was held at Camp Alpine.  For the 4th year in a row, all tables were sold out, and unfortunately we had to turn away a couple of requests for tables.

It was probably the coldest #24 TOR, at least in recent memory and the heating plant at Orbach was having difficulty warming up the building and keeping it warm with the various doors being regularly opened.

Several new NYS OA issues surfaced at the TOR including a corrected 2009 NOAC Flap from Suanhacky Lodge, a new Anniversary flap from Aquehongian Lodge #112, new event and chapter issues from Shinnecock and several new Buckskin Lodge issues.  I’ve already written up many of these.  There was also an OA discovery a previously unlisted Pwamas event issue from 1971.

On the CSP front, there were several NYC issues available.  the camp had 2008 versions of the Camp CSP and an alpine Staff Version as well.  There was also a numbered CSP for the World Trade Center.  The Lodge auction also revealed 2 Brooklyn Eagle CSP’s that many had not seen before.  They were part of the American Legion – Eagle Scout recogonition, one CSP given to each Brooklyn Eagle Scout from 2007 and 2008.  There wass also a Brooklyn Scout of the Year version.  I’m told the first CSP was issued in a quantity of 100 and only about a dozen of the Scout of the Year CSP’s have been given out.

The live auction while it did not break any records, raised more than enough funds to cover the lodge’s 2008 commitment to the Reeve’s Lodge Capital Campaign.

Several of the recent lodge’s delegate issues were available in the auction including the 2006 NOAC delegate neckerchief.

I’ve spoken to several of the tableholders who, weather aside, seemed to be please with the evnt.

Save the Date:

The 2009 Trade-O-Ree is scheduled for Nov. 21, 2009.  Watch this space for more information.
