Knowledge is Power – 1937 Jambo Shoulder Tab

An auction on eBay recently ended for a “Vintage 1930’s Lot of Miscellaneous Boy Scouts.”  The Auction started out at $ 9.99 and finished up at over $ 350.00.

So what was the key piece?  A 1937 National Jamboree Shoulder Tab pictured in the lower left.

Roy More and Chris Jensen talk about 1935 NJ Arcs and 1397 NJ Shoulder Tabs on Roy’s blog.

Roy specifically about the 1935 Arcs

These used to be a consistent $125 in price. Then they went to $225. Now they seem to be consistently in the $280 – $380 range. They are truly scarce. It used to be that folks collected just one for their jamboree collection.

And Chris about both the 1935 and 1937 issues in a comment.

Prices of the 1935 National Jamboree shoulder arcs and the 1937 National Jamboree shoulder tabs are actually higher than you state.

If you put some of the other items in the lot back on auction, you would likely recoup a significant part of the purchase price of the should tab.

Something else to watch out for.
