Shu Shu Gah Lodge #24 Nah Ne Wa Ye Chapter Hat Band

DiscoveryGene Berman came across the item below a few weeks back.  Although we both actively collect all Shu Shu Gah Lodge and Chapter issues, neither of us hadever come across one before, nor was it listed in the Blue Book.

It is made of white felt, with a silkscreened arrow and chapter name.  Approximately 1.5 inches wide and 26 inches long.

My first thought was that it might be some sort of ritual item worn on the covering the arrow on the OA sash, but it was too small to do that.

Another thought, was it was used as a headband, although one sweaty ceremony and it would likely rip or tear.

Gene did some digging and determined that it was used as a hatband on the old-style campaign hats by members of the chapter.  Likely from the late 1950’s or eqarly 1960’s.

The Blue Book has a category HBD for Headband.  Strictly speaking, it is not a headband but a hatband.

Would you list is in the Blue Book?

Certainly a collectible from that chapter.   Anyone have one for trade?
