A Look Back – 409 Neckerchief Variation

Three years ago in April 2005, I posted on a new Neckerchief  discovery from Tuighaunock Lodge #409.

I recently picked up what I thought was a duplicate 409 N1 neckerchief. Comparing it to the one in my collection I found one had brown lettering and the other black lettering. Preliminary BB Identification N1 (Brown) and N1.5 (Black Lettering) .

Section NE-5B 1998 Conclave

Matt Crance sends along a pair of patches form the 1998 Section NE-5B Conclave. I believe based on the Turtle-shaped patches, that Ganeodiyo Lodge #417 was the host. Can anyone confirm?

The pocket patch with loop is depicted below:

Randall Bull provides an image from the 1997 Section NE-3A Conclave.  The conclave was hosted by Tkaen DoD Lodge #30 at Camp Groton.

There was an over-sized pocket patch.

I also understand that there was a neckerchief issued with the patch sewn on.

Nick Lombardo – Gone Home

I heard over the weekend on Patch-L that Nick Lombardo has gone home.  Nick and his wife Pat, have been regulars  at TOR’s here in the metro New York Area.  Nick was from Delaware and a member of Nentego Lodge #20 and some of you may have known him from his eBay handle  scoutmaster1.  Keep Pat in your thoughts and prayers.

Whatsit? Moose Neckerchief

Fred McLain is looking for information on an old neckerchief he has come across.  He is unsure of the provenance, but understands it is from the 1930’s.  The neckerchief is a full square, with two moose silhouettes in the offsetting colors from the neckerchief halves.

Click on the image for a larger version.  Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

32 Years Ago Yesterday – A Great Play

A day late, but thirty two Years ago yesterday, Rick Monday the centerfielder of the Los Angeles Dodgers made a great save. If the second match had lit a bit sooner, it might have been a quite different result.

I understand that this is the same weekend as the Section NE-2B Conclave, but it was felt that there would not be significant overlap. I’ll be at Camp Woodlands myself, I’d appreciate a report from anyone in attendance.
