Massawepie Whatsit?

Rob Mathis sent along an image from Massawepie Scout Camps which as you can see below, contained 3 W’s. He asked if it was related to Ty-ohni Lodge? I sent out a few request for information, and Bill Boyle responded.

The Ws are supposed to be tufts of swamp grass. Someone couldn’t draw. Not related to the Lodge at all. It was the 1973 Voyageur camp patch.

So not an OA issue.

Ty-Ohni Lodge #95 L1 or eA1969-3

John Pannell shows a Naugahyde arrowhead on his website, OA Images for Ty Ohni Lodge #95 he has it listed as an event patch, the eL1969-3. The image on his site has the arrowhead with a handwritten 1969 on it.

I have one pictured below without the handwritten year.

Mine had a note with it that it was from the 1950’s, but that may well have just been speculation. Can anyone confirm when it was issued and how it was used?

Ty-Ohni Lodge #95 Private Issue Chenille ZC5

One new item I picked up at the Tschipey Achtu Lodge TOR last weekend was a new private Issue chenille. Rob Cunningham advises:

New chenille patch issued by the Seneca Waterways Council Scouting Historical Society to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the first Order of the Arrow lodge chartered in Western New York State. Includes a history of Ty-Ohni Lodge and the merger with Ganeodiyo Lodge in 2009-10 to form Tschipey Achtu Lodge after Finger Lakes Council and Otetiana Council merged to form Seneca Waterways Council. Also included is a list of all OA lodges in New York State formed before 1940 with the dates they were officially chartered.

Since the patch was issued by the Seneca Waterways Council Scouting Historical Society it is considered a Z issue. If the Lodge retrospectively approves it, it would be considered a Historical Issue. 200 numbered patches were produced.
