Look Back – Ranachqua Lodge #4 New Neckerchief N15

Eight years ago in June 2007, we were posting about a new Lodge neckerchief from Ranachqua Lodge #4. Ranachqua Lodge #4 since merged with the 4 other GNYC Lodges to form Kintecoying Lodge #4 in April 2013.

John Tegtmeier previously had shared the sewout of the new Ranachqua Lodge neckerchief tentatively designated the N15. The neckerchief are now in, and in the scan at least, there are no discernible differences. John advises the Black Cloth and Green Piping represent the Lodge colors.  John further advises “Run of 100, produced by Stadri Emblems.”

Kintecoying Lodge #4 & Ranachqua Lodge HS1

Kintecoying Lodge #4 in conjunction with the Ten Mile River Scout Museum has issued their first jacket patch and historic flap set.

The Kintecoying Lodge #4 and the Ten Mile River Scout Museum commemorates A Legacy of Service by issuing this unique fully embroidered 6-patch set composed of Kintecoying’s First Jacket Patch and 5 historic flaps, one for each of the legacy lodges.

The set consists of a beautiful solid embroidered Pentagon shaped backpatch showing the map of the five boroughs of New York City, the imposed totem of where each of the five historic lodges were located by borough, and the totem of the new lodge, the Peregrine Falcon on the left. Each flap features as its centerpiece the first patch ever issued by each of the five respective lodges. On the rest of the flap are the dates of the lodge’s existence, the name and number of the lodge and the theme which is “A Legacy of Service.”

Here is a scan of the Ranachqua Lodge issue:

Identification Aid – Ranachqua Lodge #4 S21 & S22

Roy More recently added a comment to the OA Blue Book that the Ranachqua Lodge #4 S22 was a redundant or duplicate issue of the S21. This is not the case, as you can see in the scan below. The S21 is on top and the S22 below.

I would amend the Blue Book listings for clarity (changes in Bold).

Look Back – Ranachqua Lodge #4 Service Award

Back in November 2007 I wrote about an item which appeared on eBay, a Ranachqua Lodge #4 Service Award.

This small beaded strip, does have the owl totem of Ranachqua Lodge and a red WWW. The bead colors, shape of the owl and overall design does match what was being used by the lodge during that time frame in its neckerchiefs. I have no reason to doubt it is from Ranachqua, but have no independent confirmation either.

It is not an issue that would be listed in the Blue Book, but does anyone know its provenance or confirm its use by the lodge?

Ranachqua Lodge #4 Service Award?

There were a couple of comments on the original post, but no definitive answer.

I though I would get a fe fresh eyes on the item and see if the current collective wisdom of the readership could idntify it.

Ranachqua Lodge #4 NOAC 2012 Arrowhead A6

I had previously written about an arrowhead shaped patch from Ranachqua Lodge #4. At the time I said it has been underwritten by an individual and had not been approved by the Lodge. I have since learned that the issue was adopted by the Lodge and used as a hat patch by their NOAC contingent in 2012.

“I believe the single most significant decision I can make on a day-to-day basis is my choice of attitude. It is more important than my past, my education, my bankroll, my successes or failures, fame or pain, what other people think of me or say about me, my circumstances, or my position. Attitude keeps me going or cripples my progress. It alone fuels my fire or assaults my hope. When my attitudes are right, there is no barrier too high, no valley too deep, no dream too extreme, no challenge too great for me.” – Charles R. “Chuck” Swindoll

Ranachqua Lodge #4 Numbered Death Flap F8

Sherrie Giattino sends along word of second of two Death flaps issued by Ranachqua Lodge #4 in advance of the April 2013 merger of the five GNYC Lodges. I wrote about the first previously.

They share the same design, but this one comes with a certificate of authenticity which is numbered from 1 to 100.
