Hurrican Sandy – The Aftermath

NYC and the Eastern seaboard got hit pretty hard from the Hurricane and storm surge as is evident in the news.

Fortunately here at the NY OA Trader Headquarters, we are safe, dry, have power and internet.  Many are not so fortunate.

Working from home since the Subways, PATH, bridges and tunnels are still closed.  Half of my work team are without power and or internet access but are all safe.

Hope you and yours are all safe and dry.

Section NE-3A 2012 Conclave Issues

This is the first year of the new Northeast Region OA section alignments after the 2011 reorganization. The host of this conclave was Tschipey Achtu Lodge #95/397 and it was held at Camp Babcock Hovey which was also celebrating its 75th Anniversary. The Theme was “Fraternitatis Hilarem Servitu.”

There were 5 issues. An embroidered Neckerchief, a jacket patch and 3 variations of the pocket patch, all of pocket patches had the same design.

First is the general trading post version of the pocket patch:

Than a Silver Mylar version for those participants who met certain requirements.

There was also a Service/Host Lodge version with an Orange Border.

Section NE-3A 2010 Conclave Staff Patch?

I had previously written about the 2010 Section NE-3A Conclave which was held at Camp Russell and hosted by Ga Hon Ga Lodge #34. The theme was Arrow Wars 2010.

I had asked if there were any other issues, and recently came across what I believe is the Staff patch for the event.

Section NE-3A 2010 Staff Patch?

Were there any other issues?

I’ve updated the original post with this picture.

“This was the object of the Declaration of Independence. Not to find out new principles, or new arguments, never before thought of, not merely to say things which had never been said before; but to place before mankind the common sense of the subject, in terms so plain and firm as to command their assent, and to justify ourselves in the independent stand we are compelled to take. Neither aiming at originality of principle or sentiment, nor yet copied from any particular and previous writing, it was intended to be an expression of the American mind, and to give to that expression the proper tone and spirit called for by the occasion.” –Thomas Jefferson (1825)

Shu Shu Gah Lodge #24 Showandasse Chapter A1 & A2

I recently acquired a Shu Shu Gah Lodge #24 chapter need. The Showandasse Chapter A2. I checked to see if John Pannnell’s OAImages had the scan and believe he has the images reversed.

Shu Shu Gah Lodge #24 Showandasse Chapter A1

The stats are:
A1 RED C ORG RED twill; thin lettering; GRN thunderbird; 78×110 mm; GRN “WWW”
The most obvious difference is not noted. The length of “Chapter” is approximately 30mm.
