2012 World Brotherhood Camporee

I have previously written about the World Brotherhood Camporee, an annual event which alternated between New York and Canada. This years event will take place at Wellesley Island State Park, Wellesley Island, New York on September 28-29-30, 2012.

Mike Hinman sends along some details

The Longhouse Council of Syracuse, New York will be hosting this year’s World Brotherhood Camporee at Wellesley Island State Park in the St. Lawrence River from September 28-30 (annual event since 1974). We expect 3500 US and Canadian Scouts and Scouters with hundreds trading Scout stuff on the 29th. Whole units or individuals can attend by applying through cnyscouts.org. We have an entire park with available camp grounds and cottages

You can get a registration flyer here.

“I believe that liberty is the only genuinely valuable thing that men have invented, at least in the field of government, in a thousand years. I believe that it is better to be free than to be not free, even when the former is dangerous and the latter safe. I believe that the finest qualities of man can flourish only in free air – that progress made under the shadow of the policeman’s club is false progress, and of no permanent value. I believe that any man who takes the liberty of another into his keeping is bound to become a tyrant, and that any man who yields up his liberty, in however slight the measure, is bound to become a slave.” – H.L. Mencken

Northeast Region OA 2012 NOAC Patch

As has been the tradition for at least the last decade, the Northeast Region has issued a patch to commemorate the 2012 National Order of the Arrow Conference.

Northeast Region OA 2012 NOAC Patch

My current NER needs include:

Northeast Region (NER) Quality Section 2004 Blue
NER 2001 Jambo GMY border Dome,
NER 2002 NOAC GMY triangle,
NER 2004 NOAC SMY border Rectangle,
NER 2006 NOAC GMY Dome,
Can anyone confirm if there will be a NE Region chief issue for the 2012 NOAC?

For those who collect Northeast Region Order of the Arrow Patches Dave Scocca’s
website is invaluable.

Look Back – Suanhacky Lodge #49 Vigil Triangle X41 & X42

Just over a year ago In wrote about two new Vigil issues for Suanhacky Lodge #49.
There was a red bordered issue and a yellow bordered version.

Eddy Petersen supplied some additional information:

The red border was given to all vigils but the yellow is for those held their vigil 25 years. I believe the quantities were red border (75) and yellow border (25).
