Look Back – Area 2-E 1953 Conclave

AS I get ready fir the TOR in Rochester later this month, I look back on a post written 5 years ago in April 2010 on the Area 2-E 1953 Conclave.

I was fortunate to pick up one of my early Area 2-E Conclave neckerchiefs at the Rochester TOR on March 27, 2010. The 1953 Area 2-E conclave was held at Camp Sam Wood and hosted by Amo’chk Lodge #339.

There was a pocket patch issued for the event, which is still a need for me,

Look Back – Area 2-E 1965 Conclave

A Look Back
Back in November 2009 I wrote about the 1965 Area 2-E Conclave which was hosted by Chautauqua Lodge #165 and held at their Camp Merz. 1965 was also the 50th Anniversary of the OA.

I’ve been pretty lucky in collecting Area 2-E, my needs are down to 3 neckerchief slides:
Area 2-E 55NS(two Fires), 66NS, 67NS

Can anyone help me out?

A mandated minimum wage is a kind of lottery in which a worker must find employment at or above the specified level. There is no constraint on the number of jobs, but employers who would otherwise pay some workers lower wages must pay the minimum or not hire them. The result is that winners receive increased wages and losers lose their jobs. Paradoxically, the losers are those who would have earned the least in any case. Finis Welch

Look Back – Area 2-E 1954 Conclave

A Look Back

Back in November 2008, I had started posting entries on various Area and Section Conclaves for New York OA Lodges.

One of them was the 1954 Area 2-E Conclave held at Camp Massawepie.

1958 Area 2-E Conclave Pamphlet

Christopher Carlson sends along a scan of the pamphlet cover from the 1958 Area 2-E Conclave which provides the date and theme for the weekend.

The conclave was held over the weekend of August 22-24, 1958 and the theme was “He alone is worthy to wear the Arrow who will continue to faithfully serve his fellowman.

1952 Area 2-E Conclave Issues

One of my acquisitions from the 30th Annual WNYTA TOR this past weekend was a pocket patch from the 1952 Area 2-E conclave hosted by Tuscarora Lodge #284 and held at their Camp Stonehaven nearly 60 years ago.

1952 Area 2-E Pocket Patch

In olden times before the Internet, color copies and collecting guides, this patch was altered to be a fake of the 284 R1. Even though the background color is red rather than blue, the inner circle is the same design as the Tuscarora R1.

  • Ty-Ohni Lodge #95
  • Ganosote Lodge #159
  • Chautauqua Lodge #165
