New York OA Trader

I had reported earlier on June 21, that Lodge 30 would likely have 2 2-piece sets for the 2004 NOAC. I recently heard from a trader in Lodge 30…
“I stopped in our scout shop yesterday to get the latest on our ’supposed’ NOAC two-piecers, and found out that nobody seems to know what is going on. … but those in the know at the shop tell me that things are a mess because the lodge didn’t get permission to use Ernie Davis’s likeness, etc., on the patch before drawing it. What the status of it is right now is up in the air. The likeness of Eileen Collins is public domain, so there is no problem with that, but I don’t know if they have been ordered separately or not. Is it going to be too late when all of this gets finalized to get the flaps made? Only time will tell. As soon as I hear anything, I’ll let you know.

FWIW…
…saw the design for the 2 two-piece #30 2004 NOAC patches for about a minute as they were sent into the manufacturer. They have a couple of famous people on them, who grew up within the council area; namely, the astronaut Susan Collins(deceased?) and Ernie Davis, the Heisman Trophy winner(out of Syracuse U., who died somehow-I don’t remember how, and although drafted into the NFL in 1960 something, obviously never played).

The numbers I got was 200 silver mylar bordered of Davis for the delegates and 500 red bordered for the trader of Collins. The flap just has the standard info on it and the pocket piece has the person and why they are/were important or famous.

I am seeking information on a round event patch that would appear to belong to Lodge 30; the question is which Lodge 30?

In 1992 Lodge #30 Winningus merged with Tkaen Dod #186 to form Tkaen Dod #30. Winningus was the OA Lodge for General Sullivan Council and the Home of Camp Brule. As you can see from the image above this patch is dated 1992 Camp Brule and reads Blazing the Trial to Brotherhood.

This is a NE4A Section Conclave patch
The Conclave was hosted by Lodge 30 Winningus just prior to their merger with 186 Tkaen Dod.

So not an undiscovered Lodge 30 event patch.
