    I recently acquired this neckerchief slide, from Buckskin Lodge #412. When I first saw it, I assumed it was a duplicate of the 412 L5.  When I received it, I realized that it was nothing like the L5, but was a totally different neckerchief slide.

    Mitch Reis in his A Guide to Dating and Identifying Boy Scouts of America Badges, Uniforms & Insignia Third Edition  describes the Air Ace Medal as follows:The ribbons on the earliest Air Scout Ace medals (1946-1947) had a vey wide light blue section and very thin red sections on the edges.
