This past January I read an article on How to Recession Proof\u00c2\u00a0Your eBay Business<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 While it was directed to someone running an eBay business, as I thought about it, I realized that many of the points could apply to the collector and casual eBay<\/a>\"\" seller at any time.\u00c2\u00a0 With 2010 just around the corner, it is worth thinking about what you want from your collection in 2010. Here is a bit of the post.<\/p>\n

3. Pay Attention To Expenses<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Take a hard look at your collecting budget, are you spending it wisely?\u00c2\u00a0 Are there things you are buying or subscribing to which do not fit your current collecting vision? Perhaps now is the time to cut them out.\u00c2\u00a0 While organizing and protecting your collection are vital, are there less expensive alternatives?<\/p>\n

4. Work Hard & Work Smart<\/p>\n

Get organized, know what you need and what you have to offer.\u00c2\u00a0 Updating your needs and dupe lists will prevent you from acquiring that long sought after need only to find you had already got one.\u00c2\u00a0 Look to trade for your needs through Patch-L<\/a>, ISCA<\/a> or other venues where you can knock off a need or two without reaching into your wallet.<\/p>\n

5. Explore Ways To Improve & Expand Your Business (Collection)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Develop a plan on ways to increase the size of your collecting circle.\u00c2\u00a0 If you find more people to trade with, or buy from you increase the chances to pick up those needs.\u00c2\u00a0 Check out Google Groups, FaceBook, MySpace or a myriad of other Social sites where you might find a new trading partners.\u00c2\u00a0 Check the TOR\u00c2\u00a0 calendar on the ISCA<\/a> website and see if there is one in your area coming up that you have not visited before.\u00c2\u00a0 Build a website, start a blog, discussion forum or ???<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
