{"id":3862,"date":"2009-04-26T09:28:06","date_gmt":"2009-04-26T14:28:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nyoatrader.com\/blog\/?p=3862"},"modified":"2009-04-25T13:51:00","modified_gmt":"2009-04-25T18:51:00","slug":"the-first-scout-troops-in-texas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nyoatrader.com\/blog\/2009\/04\/26\/the-first-scout-troops-in-texas\/","title":{"rendered":"The First Scout Troops in Texas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Roger Schustereit shared some information on Patch-L about a website ctreated by Frank Hilton which I think desrerves a wider audience.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>For the past several weeks, I have been trying to come up with a project that I could do to contribute something to the Centennial Celebration of the Boy Scouts of America on my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.westtexasscoutinghistory.net\/index.html\" target=\"_self\">West Texas Scouting History website<\/a>.<br \/>\nWell, the light came on finally, and I have created a whole new section on the website titled &#8220;The First Scout Troops in Texas.&#8221;  Hopefully, over time, others will contribute to this section as new information comes forth.  Right now I have identified some 44 communities and their &#8220;first Boy Scout troop.&#8221;  So far, I do not have anything on Houston as the research sources I am using does not include that community.
