Newly discovered Nick Stoner Lodge #418 Fake ZA1.5

DiscoveryFocus on Fakes

Gavin Murdoch continues to provide updates from his favorite collecting niche. This one is a previously unlisted fake from Nick Stoner Lodge #418.

I’ve also attached a scan of a Nick Stoner Fake which I picked up in the late 70’s. It does not appear to be like any of the fakes which are pictured on OAimages. It has a flat rolled edge. I don’t know who produced it. Much too

dark orange twill. Easy to distinguish from the real deal.

Nick Stoner Lodge #418 Fake ZA1.5

I questioned Gavin on the background color, since it appeared more of a red on my monitor. He replied…

The background is dark orange or perhaps could be called burnt orange

The Blue Book ZA1 is described as RED R ORG BLK NT; handmade

This patch clearly has twill right and whether the background is DOR or RED, it does not match the ZA1 description.

I would than tentatively label this the ZA1.5
