Look Back – Section NE-2A 1995 Section Conclave

Over six and a half years ago I wrote about the 1995 Section NE-2A Conclave, three years ago in October 2011 I was able to add an image of the Jacket Patch.

Section NE-2A 1995 Jacket Patch

Currently this is still a need of mine if anyone has one for trade or sale?

The Host Lodge is Skanondo Lodge #64, and it was held at Camp Ranachqua part of the Ten Mile River Scout Camps.
The lodges which were part of NE-2A at the time were #’s 15 , 28, 64, 313, 369, 427, 443, 444, and 553.

Another 1995 Section NE-5 Conclave Update

I’d previously posted about the 1995 Section NE-5 Conclave, and recently posted about the conclave neckerchief. Todd Rogers left a comment that there were also several rockers issued for the conclave too.

Attached are images …and two of the “rockers” for 1995. The patch and rockers are Dustin’s picture from his collection. …Chris might also have the third rocker…I’ve never seen it but I think it says “service corps” or something similar.

Two of the rockers are pictured below:

Chirs Carlson sends along an image of what may be the particpation pin

I believe the participation award was a pin with the MGM Indian head logo. Although that logo was used quite frequently, and my memory is rusty.

Can anyone confirm the participation pin and provide an image of the third rocker if it exists?

Thanks to Todd and Chris for the scans. Anyone have them available for trade or sale?

I had previously posted about the 1995 Section NE-5 conclave back in December 2009. Chris Carlson added a comment to that post that there was also a neckerchief issued for the event and has now provided a scan of the neckerchief.

Chris Carlson just added a comment to that post that there was also a neckerchief issued for the event does anyone have a scan to share or one available for trade or sale?

The conclave was held at Heritage Reservation and hosted by Enda Lechauhanne Lodge #57. The theme for the weekend was “Our Journey on the Trail of Service.”

1995 Section NE-2C Conclave Update

I had previously written about the 1995 Section NE-2C Conclave which was hosted by Aquehongian Lodge #112.

In the post I had indicated that there were three pocket patches, but only pictured one.

Here is the SMY-bordered version which was issued for the staff.

There was also a GMY bordered version which I believe was a COC or VIA issue. Can anyone confirm the reason for the GMY border?

1995 Order of the Arrow Handbook

I recently updated my Order of the Arrow Handbook Checklist. I was spurred to update if due to an acquisition of a couple of my needs. Once of which is pictured below. This is the 1995 Printing of the 1994 Revison.

Prior to 1989 has a code to determine which printing the book is from and the quantity of books printed. This code is normally listed beneath the copy right information. For example the code, 10M353 which indicates 10,000 copies were printed in March 1953.

After 1989, there was no indication of the month or printing size. There was usually an indication of the year it was revised or printed. More recently, the easiest identifier is the name/signature of the National Chief printed in the Handbook.

1995 Section NE-3A & NE-3B Combined Conclave

I’m sure there have been times that Lodges officially or unofficially attended a conclave run by a section that they were not a member. Certainly many conclaves have guests or visitors from Lodges which are not part of their Section. This is the only example I am aware of where 2 Sections have combined and run a joint Conclave, certainly the only example in NYS.

After the realignment in 1994, Section NE-3A and NE-3B decided to hold a joint or combined conclave in 1995. Ty Ohni Lodge #95 was the host for this event which was held at their Camp Warren Cutler. The theme was “When Brothers Meet.”

As you might expect, there was more than the usual number of items issued for this event.

First a four inch pocket patch:

The sharper-eyed amongst you may have noticed that one of the lodges was misnumbered. Lodge 477 was shown as 447. The patch was not reordered, but a segment was created to correct the error on both this and the jacket patch.

and the misnumbered Jacket Patch

There was also a three inch pocket patch with a different design:
