What: Second Annual Empire State Trade-O-Ree

WHEN: October 16th, 2010 9:00 am-3:00 pm (dealer setup at 7:45 am)

WHERE: VERONA FIRE DEPARTMENT (Station #1)

Directions: (from NYS Thruway I-90…TOR is less than 1 mile from end of exit ramp): *Take Exit #33 (Verona-Rome-NY Route 365). *Head East on Rt. 365 (Eastbound) towards Rome. *At 2nd light from exit, take left onto Spring St. *At stop sign, make left onto Main St. *Turn right onto Volunteer Ave. *Fire station is at the top of the hill.

ADMISSION: FREE…FREE…FREE…FREE

Tables: $8.00 provides you one 8-foot banquet table for selling/trading your items. Space is limited to 30 tables, so reserve yours TODAY!

In addition to trading, buying, and selling Boy Scout memorabilia/
collectibles, the following will also be available:

Shu Shu Gah Lodge #24 15th Annual Trade-O-Ree

For the fifteenth year in a row, Shu Shu Gah Lodge #24 will once again be hosting a Trade-O-Ree in Camp Alpine.

Where: Gary Laermer Pavilion at Orbach Arena, Camp Alpine, Alpine, NJ

When: Saturday November 20, 2010

Time: 9:00AM to 3:00PM (dealer setup begins at 8:30AM)

Admission: Free to All – A unique day trip for your troop or pack

Tables: $20.00 for each table. All tables $25.00 after October 15, 2010 if avialable

Table Reservations on a first come first served basis.

Patches, Patches Everywhere Patches, Patches Everywhere

As always this TOR will have free admission to all in order to help boost walk-in attendance.

Shu Shu Gah Lodge will conduct a live auction at the TOR. The auction proceeds will be used as part of the lodge’s commitment to the Reeves Lodge Capital Campaign which has been set up by GNYC to refurbish Reeves Lodge, the training center at Camp Alpine.

Many of you know Reeves Lodge from the many NLS, SOS and other training courses held there. If you are interested in donating items for this auction, please contact me at nyoatrader@nyoatrader.com.

Our efforts to publicize this years TOR continue.

Flyers have been or will be handed out at many of the upcoming local TOR’s, at the NE-7A and NE-7B Section Conclaves, GNYC’s Summer Camp Ten Mile River, the Ten Mile River Scout Museum, the TMR Annual Alumni Day, the Brooklyn 2010 Program Kickoff, the Lodge newsletter, the Blue Heron and other local Scouting events.

We have also added a Facebook event for the TOR to try to tap into a different segment of the Scouting Community.

Flyers or information are also available in ISCA website, on various dealer lists, local Scout Camps, etc.

CNY TOR Report – June 11-12, 2010

Back from the Central New York TOR held this past weekend with lots of news and images which should see the light of day over the next couple of weeks. Thanks to Dick, Steve and the rest of the William Hillcourt Scout Museum for putting on the TOR.

I have news and images for a number of patches issued by various NY OA Lodges some heard at the TOR and other via email reports.

  • Half Moon Lodge #28 has at least 3 varieties of its current regular issue flap.
  • Tkaen DoD Lodge #30 reportedly has a new anniversary issue out.  Need scans and a trade.
  • Suanhacky Lodge #49 has 3 new issues out, an 80th Anniversary flap and 2 different Vigil triangles.
  • Man-A-Hattin Lodge #82 has a 2010 Jamboree Flap out
  • Ho-De-No-Sau-Nee Lodge #159 issued a 2010 Philmont Trek flap
  • Ho-Nan-Ne-Ho-Ont Lodge #165 issued a 2-piece set for the 2010 Jamboree featuring Heron-man seen on their 2009 NOAC sets.
  • Kayanernh-Kowa #219 has two final issues, a neckerchief celebrating their 10th Anniversary in 2009 and a final flap issued as a gift from the Lodge Advisor.
  • Lowanne Nimat Lodge #219 has 3 issues in the works, 2 Jamboree Flaps and a Charter Member flap. There is some question over which will be issued first.  There is also word that there totem may not be the Gougou (which translates as ―A giant, man-like beast); but a red fox.
  • Ashokwahta Lodge #339 has a new black-bordered regular issue flap.
  • Kittan Lodge #364 has issued 4 flaps celebrating the Centennial.
  • Tschipey Achtu Lodge #397? has issued 4 patches, a Charter Member flap, a two-piece set and their first event patch.
  • Buckskin Lodge #412 has a new Jacket Patch  and a new Chapter issue.  The chapter patch was issued jointly by two of Buckskin’s chapters.
  • The 2010 Section conclaves have begun, Sections NE-7A and 7B have both held their conclaves and both issued a pocket patch and a jacket patch.

Lots of new issues, posts with these issues should begin appearing tomorrow.

See you there? 2010 Central New York Trade-O-Ree

I just want to give you some info about the 2010 CNY/TOR to be held on
Friday June 11th (5 to 10pm) and Saturday June 12th (9am to 3pm) at Camp
Woodland, Longhouse Council, sponsored by the William Hillcourt Museum. The
TOR is offically SOLD OUT! We will host 30 Tables of Scouting Memorabillia
from all over the Northeast Region! The event has been a HUGE success over
the past 10 years and we want to invite you to attend! Admission is ONLY $1
and ANYONE in ANY type of Uniform (Scouting, Military, Police, Fire, Rescue
or Conservation) is admitted for free!
This year, the Museum Committee has put together an excellent event in
celebration of 100 Years of Scouting! Food, Friends, Fellowship and FUN is
our motto! On Saturday, we will host Silent Auctions every hour from 9am til
2pm and offer a LIVE Auction at 2:15pm. We have secured some very nice
collectible items from numerous donations and we don’t want you to miss out.

This is an excellent event for Scouts and Scouters of All ages! An
