Onteroraus Lodge #402 S27 and S43 Brotherhood Flaps

New IssueThe Second in the updated OBV Spring, Winter,Fall set from Onteroraus Lodge #402 is the Brotherhood flap.

The S43 is a computer designed version of the S27. Without the issues side by side, the most telling difference is the flat white sky. There are several other smaller difference, a darker green border and FDL. And at least in my specimens, the S43 CD version is slightly smaller than the Swiss S27.

My S43 flap is 127mm in length vs. about 130mm for the S27. This is about the thickness of the border.

Onteroraus Lodge #402 S42 Ordeal Flap

New IssueDon Tuttle has brought word of a new issue from Onteroraus Lodge #402. Before I get to it, I need to report on some other new issues which will require me to renumber the 2006 NOAC flap (previously the S42 now S45) and the 2006 NOAC Section NE-3B Flap from Lodge 402 (previously the S43 now S46).

The first issue here is the S42. This is the updaated version of the S26 Ordeal Flap. As you can see from the scan below, the S26 has Swiss Embroidery and the new S42 is Computer Designed (CD), the border is also a Darker Red.

Onteroraus #402 Neckerchief Discovery N5

I had previously blogged about an undiscovered Lodge #402 Neckerchief variation here.

Well it looks like I’ve uncovered another one. This one, while not Mint in Package, appears unused and unwashed, although their is some faint discoloring in the white cloth above the Lodge name.

This version has a Bright Blue Background and Dark Brown Lodge Name, Tree Trunk and Branch.

Don Tuttle, the Lodge 402 historian, believes there was only one order of these neckerchiefs.  I do have 3 distinct color variations, however.  Are they prototypes?  Does anyone else have more than the LBL variety?

Lodge #402 Onteroraus R2a and R2b

I recently acquired what I believe to be the ‘missing’ variation (at least from my collection) of the Lodge 402 R2.

The Blue book describes the difference as in the R2 a and b varieties as follows:
The R2a is described as having “darker GRN mountains” and the R2b as having  “Mint GRN mountains.”

As you can see from the  scans below, there is a difference in the greens;  one lighter and one darker.  Is this the 2 variations?  Does anyone out there have both varieties with a more pronounce color difference?  If so could you please provide clear side-by-side scans for me to post.
