Nacha Nimat Lodge #86 Haunted Harvest Fest eX2007

New IssueAnother new issue uncovered at the Shu Shu Gah TOR last weekend. This one from Nacha Nimat Lodge #86. This is the second year a patch was issued for OA members serving on staff for the Haunted Harvest Fest. You can see the 2006 Haunted Harvest Fest Patch here. Once again, neither the Lodge name nor number appear on the patch.

I need one of these if anyone has one available for trade.

Nacha Nimat Lodge #86 Event Patch eR2004?

Discovery George Jennings bring word of a new discovery from Nacha Nimat Lodge #86. It is an event patch from a Klondike Derby which was run for the two districts which make up Nooteeming Chapter.

George has done some research, and it does not seem to be in dispute that it is an OA issue, I am still unclear whether this should be a Lodge event issue or a chapter event issue.

Nacha Nimat Lodge #86 Event Patch eR2004

Here is what we know so far.

An event took place at Camp Nooteeming in 2004. The Dutchess County scouts were involved. On the emblem are the letters www , bsa, oa ,and NN86, which to me represent lodge 86 Nacha Nimat . The beaver on the emblem probably represents Nooteeming ( camp? ) (lodge?) and the other two figures probably represent Chief Ninham {District} and what ever Tri Valley {District} had as a mascot. ( do not know).

George received two responses:

If not mistaken that Klondike was a combined effort of both districts. It was run by Nacha Nimat Lodge. The penguin in the corner probably represented the Klondike.

and

Ryan Lxxxx and I ran that event through the lodge. Every participant got that patch. Why the beaver and not the black bear is a mystery. Maybe Ryan remembers, but needless to say it’s wrong. Yours in the Wimachtendik,Wayne MXXXXX

I’m currently leaning towards a lodge event patch, but could be persuaded it was a chapter issue.

A Comedy of Errors! Nacha Nimat Lodge #86 mispelling

It had been pointed out to me in late 2005 that the Lodge 86 S1 which was mispelled, was incorrectly mispelled in at least Blue Book 5.

The S1 flap was incorrectly spelled “Nacha Mimat” however the Blue Book 5 said the flap was mispelled Nacha “Miwat

So I hoped to correct that in Blue Book VI.

Adam Bauer points out

While looking over the new Blue Book last night I found a few errors relating to Nacha Nimat Lodge #86.  The lodge is incorrectly listed as “Nacha Mimat.”  This is done in the lodge 86 section as well as the merger information for lodges 64, 443, and 444.  Additionally, there is an error in the listing for the S1 issue of Lodge 86.  The issue is correctly labeled as having a misspelling in the name but the misspelling is wrong.  The misspelling is listed as being “Nacha Miwat” but the actual incorrect text on the patch is “Nacha Mimat.”

So please keep your records straight.  The correct lodge name is Nacha Nimat and the S1 was incorrectly spelled Nacha Mimat.   Hopefully we can  get this straightened out in time for the next edition.
