Kittan Lodge First Flap S1

New IssueUpdated: I wanted two add two points to the post:

  1. As Dave Scocca points out in the comments, the Lodge is referring to itself as Lodge #364 on its web-page.
  2. Jonathan Grove asked me to explain the old Lodge Restrictions - Haudenosaunee Lodge #19’s regular issues were unrestricted although they did have some NOAC Delegate issues and an Honor Guard neckerchief that had a very limited issuance. Loon Lodge #364 had the reverse. Some of their anniversaries and NOAC issues were unrestricted, but all of their regular issues were tightly restricted including their one per member Death Flap.

Eric G brings word that Kittan Lodge (the result of the merger between Loon Lodge #364 and Haudenosaunee Lodge #19) has now issued its First Flap. Apparently, they will be following the Haudenosaunee tradition regarding restrictions rather than the Loon traditions.

Apparently, the Lodge totem is the Porcupine. Neither the Lodge “Number” nor Council Number appears on the flap.

Ho De No Sau Nee Lodge #159 40th Anniversary Issue S41 Officers Issue

New IssueMike Hulsizer and Marty Abramson both bring word of two new 40th Anniversary flaps from Ho De No Sau Nee Lodge #159.

Both flaps list the names and numbers of the predecessor lodges Ganosote #159 and Tuscarora #284.

The second is an Officer and Advisors issue. The design is the same, but the border color has been changed to white.

Marty reported that,”The White Border was given to past Lodge Chiefs and Advisors” and Mike advised, “The other will be for current Lodge officers, past Lodge Chiefs, and Lay Advisors to be presented at the Lodge Dinner.”

It is pictured below:

Haudenosaunee #19 and Loon #364 Issue Combined 2006 NOAC Set

Haudenosaunee Lodge #19 and Loon Lodge #364 have issued a combined 2006 NOAC Set. Both Lodges travelled together to NOAC and issued a two-piece set for the event which contains the names of both lodges. Following earlier Blue Book conventions, the patches will be listed under both Lodges (with their individual issue numbers). This is similar to NOAC issues from Skanando #64, Nooteeming #443 and Munsi #444 prior to their merger to Nacha Nimat in the mid 1990’s.

Loon Lodge Merger Information

For those joining late, back in January 2006 Adirondack Council was absorbed into Twin Rivers Council. In fact it is now a district in TRC. Since Loon charter for 2006 was already submitted and approved, Loon Lodge continues to exist in 2006. National policy however would preclude a 2007 charter since this would mean 2 lodges in one council.
John Pannell of oaimages reports from NOAC with some new information on the upcoming merger of Loon Lodge.
The lodges formerly known as 19 and 364 are now in the same council. They
travelled together to NOAC and issued a joint two-part set.
According to their display, they will become Kittan 364 (!) in “2006″. I
pressume that to mean 2007 as they used their names (Haudeno… and Loon) on the NOAC patch and surely both still have a charter for this year.
I found the use of 364 a bit unusual, but then again with all of 19’s
mergers Loon is actually the longer standing lodge. :-;

What John did not realize (or remember) is that 364 is the Council number for Twin Rivers Council.

Correction to Blue Book Listing
Haudenosaunee Lodge #19 Sislija Chapter F1

Dave Scocca notes an error in the Blue Book Listings:

“I’m working on checking my lodge 75th anniversary collection against the BB5 listing (as per OAImages.com) and found an inconsistency.

The BB listing has Haudenosaunee Lodge #19’s Sisilija Chapter having a single flap issue, listed as F1. I have the pictured flap, and it’s undeniably a solid.

Should that simply be listed as the S1?”

Dave is correct as you see from the image below, the flap should be listed as the S1. Unfortunately BB VI is closed for edits, so this correction will have to wait for BB VII.

Haudenosaunee Lodge 19 2005 National Jamboree 2 piece patch sets

David Fritts writes,

“The Haudenosaunee Lodge 19 2005 National Jamboree 2 piece patch sets have just come in. The patch is a mixture of our previous lodge flaps. The first section is our night flap, the second is the day flap, and the third is our current sunset patch. Inclosed is a scan of the patch.”

I undertand that some of the sets will be signed and numbered by the designer on the reverse, but will otherwise be no different from the “regular” issue.

This set shoul be the S12/X6.
