Stepping back from the OA Centennial and NOAC for a moment will bring us to the highest priced OA issue to sell recently on eBay, the Kamargo Lodge #294 N1.

There was only a single bidder and the seldom seen neckerchief from Kamargo Lodge # 294 was what he wanted for the price of $ 750.00.
Some folk have said that this is the 1952 Area 2-D conclave neckerchief. I think it is likely both the Conclave neckerchief and the 294 N1. Similar to the 402N1, there is no indication of the lodge name or number on the neckerchief, my understanding it was sold to Kamargo Lodge members for secveral years in addition to being available on the conclave.

This was definitely used as the Conclave neckerchief for the first Area 2-D Conclave in 1951. I cannot put my hands on the Area History immediately but I believe the Conclave was held at Woodworth Lake, hosted by Thay-En-Da-Ne-Ga. The neckerchief was a hand sewn neckerchief with approximately 300 made. The 1952 Conclave neckerchief was slightly different but also had no lodge or camp designation on the neckerchief. The patches for those conclaves also had no lodge or camp designations. Kamargo was a member of the Area at the time of that Conclave. Kamargo did not host an Area Conclave until 1956. There has been a Area History display at Section 2- A at least since the mid 1970’s. During some of the time that this display has been at conclaves, Kamargo was a member of the Section. No member of Kamargo ever xommented that the neckerchief was also used by Kamargo as its neckerchief. The information on the numbers and creation of the neckerchief come from two attendees at that Conclave who are still alive. I’d be very interested in where the attritribution of this neckerchief to Kamargo comes from. I could surmise that members of Kamargo who attended that Conclave wore the neckerchief as a Lodge neckerchief but did not produce any additional neckerchiefs to make it an official Lodge neckerchief.
