I-Tsu-La Lodge #99 First Flap S1

I had previously written about the new lodge I-Tsu-La Lodge #99.

I-Tsu-La Lodge was formed from the merger of Tomo Chi-Chi Lodge 119 and Pilthlako Lodge 229 Coastal Georgia Council is formed from the merger of Coastal Empire Council 99 and Okefenokee Area Council 758. The toem is a loggerhead turtle.

The First Flaps are starting to appear on eBay, and were apparently limited to 2 per member.

Good thing for me this is not a NY Lodge. 🙂 Looks like two have already sold on eBay, one for the $ 500 asking price and we can infer the second for a circa $ 235 best offer.

1958 Area 2-D Covers

Brian Kent sends along two covers issued for the 1958 Area 2-D Conclave. The 1958 Area 2-D Conclave was actually held outside of NYS at Stratton Mountain Scout Reservation in Vermont.

Here is a photo of 2 different envelope designs from the 1958 Area 2D Conclave. I picked one up recently and then noticed it was different from one I already had.

Buckskin Lodge #412 2013 GMY Border National Jamboree Set S73 X24

I thought I was done with posting about 2013 National Jamboree issues from New York State OA Lodges, but while looking through the PatchScan Council and Lodge Patch Gallery I found another one.

In addition to the red bordered Jamboree set from Buckskin Lodge #412, there was also a set with a Gold Mylar border.

The Council created 50 sets of their JSP’s and OA issues for the 2013 National Jamboree and mainly sold them in numbered frames. (Updated Jan. 2016 based on Brian Petrowski’s comment.) The flap and chevron are pictured below.

Happy Eleventh Blog Birthday To Me – the NYOA Trader is 11

Cake Eleven years ago on January 26, 2004 the NY OA Trader Blog was born on Blogger with the following Mission Statement.

The purpose of this blog is to publish information about new Lodge and Chapter issues from New York State OA Lodges, the discovery of older uncatalogued issues, warnings about fakes, spoof, and reproductions and other information/musings that may be of interest to other NY OA Collectors (or at least amusing to me).

The blog now has nearly 4200 posts and my aim is to continue to provide information about new and older issues from your lodges through scans, trades, comments and encouragement from my readers. Thousands of issues have been showcased on this site and its archives are a treasure trove of information on New York State OA issues.

While life sometimes gets in the way, and posting may be sparse at times, I hope to continue this blog for many years to come.

Without my readers, commenters and contributors, I would not have been able to share a fraction of the information available on the site. Thanks to you all and please keep sending me information and scans so I can continue posting.
