Kamargo Lodge #294 Ordeal Member R4a & R4b

At the Western New York Traders Association TOR in mid-September, I picked up what I thought would be a couple of dupes of the Kamargo Lodge #294 R4. On closer examination, I realized that there was a previously unlisted twill variation.

The R4, was listed as Twill Left Smooth (TLS). I was holding both a TLS and a TRS patch.

So looks like we need to update the Blue Book listing:
R4 YEL R WHT GRN YEL FDL; “KAMARGO LODGE ORDEAL MEMBER”; CD; CB; TLS

to

R4a YEL R WHT GRN YEL FDL; “KAMARGO LODGE ORDEAL MEMBER”; CD; CB; TLS

Kamargo Lodge #294 Ordeal Member R4a TLS
Kamargo Lodge #294 Ordeal Member R4a TLS

and add a listing for
R4b YEL R WHT GRN YEL FDL; “KAMARGO LODGE ORDEAL MEMBER”; CD; CB; TRS

Kamargo Lodge #294 Ordeal Member R4b TRS

The twill is very smooth on this version, but if you zoom in on the image you can make out some of the twill direction.

At one time, Kamargo Lodge gave these patches out to Ordeal Members and they were not able to get the flap until they became Brotherhood.

“It is a proposition too plain to be contested, that the constitution controls any legislative act repugnant to it; or, that the legislature may alter the constitution by an ordinary act. All laws which are repugnant to the constitution are null and void.” – Chief Justice John Marshall, in Marbury v. Madison, 1803
