Area 2-A 1959 Pocket Patch

conclaveBack in early 2007, I wrote up what was to become one of my first posts on conclave issues; the 1959 Area 2A Conclave.

At the time I was more concerned with a leather slide and trying to determine if it should be considered a Nooteeming Lodge issue or a Conclave issue.

George Jennings confirmed that it was in fact a conclave gift to all in attendance from Nooteeming, the host lodge.

One item that was not pictured in that post, was a pocket patch also issued for the event.

Thanks to Tom Wadnola for the scan.  I’ll add this to the earlier post as well.

Despite the recent formation of Area 2-J, it appears that the GNYC lodges were in attendance at the event.

According to the OA Section List, the following lodges were part of Area 2-A at this time.

  • Mide Lodge #15
  • Skanondo Lodge #64
  • Horicon Lodge #246
  • Shinnecock Lodge #360
  • Buckskin Lodge #412
  • Nooteeming Lodge #443
  • Munsi Lodge #444

and the GNYC Lodges transitioning to Area 2-J

  • Ranachqua Lodge #4
  • Shu-Shu-Gah Lodge #24
  • Suanhacky Lodge #49
  • Man-A-Hattin Lodge #82
  • Aquehongian Lodge #112

OA Amangi Nacha Lodge Complete 2009 NOAC set

Ebay LogoBack in august, I wrote about a complete set of Amangi Nacha Lodge #47 NOAC issues which sold on eBay for over $ 460.

Well its back, a similar set from Amangi Nacha Lodge is now on eBay with just over 6 days to go.  It started at $ 9.99 and has a BIN of $ 450.00 but carries a reserve as well.

It is now 3+ months after NOAC, those with the deepest pockets have likely filled their needs.  where will this one end up?

Amangi 2Clicking on the image, will bring you to the auction for the next few months.

“History affords us many instances of the ruin of states, by the prosecution of measures ill suited to the temper and genius of their people. The ordaining of laws in favor of one part of the nation, to the prejudice and oppression of another, is certainly the most erroneous and mistaken policy. An equal dispensation of protection, rights, privileges, and advantages, is what every part is entitled to, and ought to enjoy.” –Benjamin Franklin
