eBay Save 50% on Auction-style Insertion Fees

Ebay LogoeBay has just announced a sale price for their auction insertion fees for those of us who may sell Scout Collectibles.

For Scout collectors, here is the important bit:

What listings qualify for this promotion?
To qualify for this promotion the listing must be an Auction-style listing in one of the following categories:

Art
Antiques
Dolls & Bears
Toys & Hobbies
Pottery & Glass
Collectibles
Stamps

Collectibles are the master category for our patches, neckerchiefs and other ephemera.

Here is the breakdown of the savings:

Fees
Auction-style listings Regular Price Promotional Rate
$0.01 – $0.99 $0.15 $0.08
$1.00 – $9.99 $0.35 $0.18
$10.00 – $24.99 $0.55 $0.28
$25.00 – $49.99 $1.00 $0.50
$50.00 – $199.99 $2.00 $1.00
$200.00 – $499.99 $3.00 $1.50
$500.00 and up $4.00 $2.00
All other fees (Final Value Fees and all other optional listing upgrade fees*) will still be charged.

Since the promotion is only about 6 hours old right now, I see there are not quite 9300 auctions running now. How high do you think the number will get? Will this make you list a few more items?

  1. These sales were always a mixed blessing. While it was nice to list for cheaper prices, the competition increased a lot. It seems like everyone, including myself, would use it as a time to list their low priced items that they just wanted to move.

I haven’t been able to follow eBay as much as I used to, over here (darn, Gov’t filters) so I won’t take a guess at how it will affect the number of auctions, other than to say it will go up…

  2. Dan,
Your right, after all a Scout is Thrifty. Previous free listings days have dramatically increased the number of listings even if it was only for 1 days’ worth of free listings. This is for 2 weeks, so time will tell.
