Regions to Merge?
In the rumor and innuendo department… I received this anonymously.
Just heard that all 4 regions are being “eliminated.” Not sure how they’re implementing. My guess is that they’ve got to keep the regions from an organizational standpoint, but they may close the 4 offices and transfer the people that they still need to Dallas as a cost saving measure. Having seen the NER office in Jamesburg (a very nice, large and modern office building), I can only guess that the same functions can be handled out of Dallas for less money, even if one adds in increased travel costs.
If they’re just closing the offices without seriously changing the organizational structure, it probably has no effect on collectors. If they are really completely eliminating the regions (and I’m not sure that that’s organizationally possible), it obviously has major ramifications.
I can’t comment on the veracity of the information, has anyone else heard any rumblings?
Obviously cost containment and reduction are big concerns at both the individual Council and the National levels.
It was only a year or so ago when the Sections were reorganized into the current configurations.
