Shu Shu Gah Lodge #24 eA2008-3

New IssueJohn Pannell posted about the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA)and its effect on Scout patches.  In a follow-up post, he shared some further information;

Third Party testing certificates for lead content. There are two effects to this new regulation.  One, the requirement for testing all products for lead will increase the lead time needed for delivery by at least a week, maybe two, as the demand for this service become more necessary.  Second, smaller vendors will be required to “bundle” orders together, and not ship when ready, until a larger number of items can be tested at the same time.

This very policy delayed the receipt of the patches issued for the Shu Shu Gah Lodge #24 8th Annual Indian Seminar held at Camp Alpine late last month.  The event was very successful, with over 250 participants for this years event.

The patch depicts a Native American in a Straight Dance Outfit.

Here is an image of the staff patch issued for the event.

Kamargo Lodge #294 A1

Earlier this year, I ran a series of posts on the  Toughest New York OA to Collect (which I need to get back to).  One of the posts on Area 2-G covered Kamargo Lodge #294 an issue which was not mentioned in the post was the Kamargo Lodge #294 A1.

And while this is by no means the toughest piece from the lodge, one recently closed on eBay with three bidders over $ 250 and two slugging it out until the end with a close of over $ 515

Still a need of mine.

    I have often wondered why there are not more Scout Patch collecting related blogs?  Blogging requires a minimal if any knowledge of HTML or CSS, particularly if you use some of the free platforms such as Blogspot or WordPress.  Seems a natural way to communicate with fellow traders and an easy way to keep you needs and wants available online.
