George,
A bit tongue in check, breaking up the GNYC lodges is not quite the end of the world as we know it.

Thinking geographically, I never thought the old alignment of having 360 and 412 travel through NE-2C to get to the rest of their section made sense either.

A GNYC Camp could now hold multiple section conclaves on the same weekend or a least the same month. I don't think Ten Mile River ever had two conclaves the same weekend when #64 or later #86, was using Camp Ranachqua, and the GNYC lodges were in different sections (from #64 or #86).

I think Kittan #364 and #165 have it worse being the only NY Lodges in otherwise non-NYS Sections.

Hi Bill : Interesting news indeed. Whne you think about transportation for scouts, lodge 112, 24 and 82 are definitely in the New jersey loop. The Bronx belongs upstate. Queens , eh. Could go either way, but probably upstate.

I think it has been years since GNYC had the clout to make their own moves. The lodges in GNYC have been fighting for independence and trying to keep their own identities for many years. Now it is time to taste the fruit if independence. Some seperation from the GNYC unbrella seems to be the answer.

Ten Mile River scout camps have been divided over the years and no one seems to have been hurt by it. Look at Camp Ranachqua. It was leased to Hudson Delaware council for years and then to Hudson Valley Council .

In any event, I don't think the lodges in GNYC have any say about it . Join the rest of us in watching the changes take place.
