Hi Bill -Thanks for the info on the 1971 Area 2H conference. You may wish to change your headline to read 1971 conference.(
) As the lay advisor to Skanondo at the time of this conference, we decided to have the arc shaped patch designed to fit under the large 6 inch Beech Mountain Scout Camp patch. The 2 different service troop neckerchiefs were designed for members of the lodge who attended the conference.those who served as delegation members and attended all classes wore the black NC.The red n/c was designed for the members who were in class c unifrom (old clothes) and perfomed in the "dirty" jobs department and also those in Class A unifrom working the check in and general camp operations. We also had a special first day cover made for the conference. We utilized the local post office and used two 4 cent BSA stamps which were made in 1960. This was done under the direction of Bernie Chonin, a wonderful scouter who has since gone home to the Lord.As you can see by the cover, the conference was held September 10 to 12, 1971. I am forwarding a photo for your file.Hope this info will help others understand this conference and what a wonderful experience was for so many scouts and scouters.
