How strong is your password?

[2]In this day and age of multiple logon ID’s and needing multiple passwords with different characteristics for each web site we visit, it is easy to fall into the trap of using simple passwords. Passwords that are easily guessed or have to few characters are considered simple.

Of course a first rule of password security is not to share it indiscriminately. So you have to decide–is getting an evaluation of “password strength” worth sharing your password with a website or program whose authors/owners you don’t necessarily know?

Good point. However, you are not sharing your log-on name or the system/url you are trying to create a password for. But to be extra safe, you could merely test the style of password you plan to use. Not the exact password.
