Tughaunock Lodge #409 S8a & S8b

Identification Aide [2]Here is the third in a series of posts to aid you in your identification of flaps from Tughaunock Lodge #409.  In this post we will look at the S8a and S8b.

The Blue Book describes them as:

S8a LGY R WHT BLK VIG; TWO gunwale canoe; PBL water
S8b LGY R WHT BLK VIG; TWO gunwale canoe; BLU water

The blues, are close, but when held together a distinct difference can be seen. I also think the lettering is slightly thicker in the S8b.

Hello Sir,

My father has a Tughaunock #409 that has a brown bear on it. He was in scouting 66-67 time frame. Have you seen this patch around?
Thanks

Dan,
Could be the S1, without a scan, it is hard to tell.
