Bill Marriott - Eagle Scout
You may have stayed at a Marriott Hotle on vacaction or visiting a TOR :-), but did you know that Bill Marriot himself was not only a Scout, but an Eagle Scout. He writes the following on the Marriott blog.
Many years ago, I joined Boy Scout Troop 241 in Chevy Chase, Maryland. It was one of the most rewarding and difficult experiences of my life. Finally, I achieved the highest Boy Scout honor, that of becoming an Eagle Scout. It took a lot of hard work and determination.
Give it a read.

An observation–looking through the images I’ve accumulated of lettered-area items–is that this 1945 Area J slide is almost identical to the 1945 Area I slide (labeled “N.C.” where the J slide says “Area J”) and very similar to the 1948 Area A slide. It would not surprise me if all three were from the same manufacturer.
