Hi Bill,

This particular Grey Owl Totem Slide is not unique to lodge #418, but is also know to have been used by members of Uncas lodge 297 in CT (their lodge totem was a black fox). These could be ordered through the mail from Grey Owl with any of several dozen different totems that were available in thei catalogue.

Hi Bill-
The #418 slide is exactly (except the totem) alike that of the #357 slide I shared a while back. Good to hear more about the possible background. I had ever heard the potential "Grey Owl" relation to this item. Again, thanks for your input.
-Ray Gould
P.S. - Hard to imagine these slides ever being worn on a neckerchief because they are quite heavy and the slide ring seems a bit too large to secure on the neckerchief.
