Lodge #402 Onteroraus R2a and R2b
I recently acquired what I believe to be the ‘missing’ variation (at least from my collection) of the Lodge 402 R2.
The Blue book describes the difference as in the R2 a and b varieties as follows:
The R2a is described as having “darker GRN mountains” and the R2b as having “Mint GRN mountains.”
As you can see from the scans below, there is a difference in the greens; one lighter and one darker. Is this the 2 variations? Does anyone out there have both varieties with a more pronounce color difference? If so could you please provide clear side-by-side scans for me to post.

Bill, I illustrate the Onteroraus darker(?)green R2a and its mint green variation R2b on my website: http://www.scoutgraphicsink.com/onteroraus checklist. I have examined dozens of these first lodge patches over the years but have only seen a few of the MINTY R2bs, all used. Pardon the pun, but I have never seen a “mint” minty R2b!
